Winter Harp presents

The Music Video

Pure magic-these are the words which describe Winter Harp’s debut music video Avalon.

Filmed on a remote beach on British Columbia’s west coast, Avalon is a journey back in time to another land and another age.

The music video is based on the song Avalon from Winter Harp’s CD Harp Dance. The song, written by Celtic harpist and singer Lori Pappajohn, is about the death of King Arthur. According to legend, after the 12th great battle, King Arthur was mortally wounded and lying on the sea shore. Queen Guinevere (played by Lori Pappajohn) finds Arthur and sings her heart’s sorrow as life slips from her king and lover.

As Guinevere mourns, out of the mist of the gray sea sails an ancient ship with three magical queens dressed in pure white. The queens bear King Arthur away to Avalon-a mystical island far out in the ocean. As they sail away, disappearing into the mist, Guinevere is left on the beach to mourn alone.
